Synopsis

In 1892 New England, a young woman constrained by Victorian society becomes the prime suspect in the brutal axe murders of her father and stepmother, sparking America's first celebrity murder trial. More than 130 years after Andrew and Abby Borden were brutally murdered, their case remains unsolved. Lizzie Borden was tried and acquitted, but the mystery never ended. Now, this documentary reopens the case, reconstructing the timeline and re-examining the evidence, testimonies and suspects to uncover a darker possibility: what if the murders were not the work of one person, but a secret shared by the entire family?
